| Sumario: | Arterial hypertension (AHT) is a chronic, degenerative cardiovascular disease, characterized by increased blood pressure. The main objective of the research was to design a plan provides palliative care to the individual, family and community, directed at hypertensive adult and senior citizens corresponding to the districts of Flores and Velasco-Riobamba-Ecuador. This research comprises a descriptive, cross-sectional study with an observational design, and a mixed approach. A questionnaire created by C. Peñacoba and Col., and adapted by K Figueredo was used to evaluate the quality of life, satisfaction and general status. We worked with a sample of 52 hypertensive patients. In general terms, patient satisfaction is high with respect to resources allocated, care and treatment received. The assessment of the overall level of life satisfaction is higher in the rural district of Flores compared to the urban district of Velasco. The suggestion presented summarizes the care that should be provided to patients based on the palliative care guide of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and channeled by the theory of Sister Callista Roy. |
