Description
Summary:Nowadays dentistry is being treated with a minimally invasive approach and with a greater degree in the aesthetic part. For which it has been used more frequently to porcelain dental veneers. It is for this reason that the need to know these ceramic materials in a better way was evident. Taking into account that fracture is in many cases the main durability factor in aesthetic dental treatments. The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the resistance of different types of feldspathic porcelain to compression fracture, through an in vitro experimental study taking into account the comparison between the NORITAKE commercial house and the CERAMCO commercial house. The research consisted of 18 samples with 3 groups of thicknesses of 0.3mm, 0.5mm and 0.7mm, with 3 samples for each thickness; which were divided into two groups of 9 samples for each commercial house, with each of these thicknesses. In both groups, tests were performed on the Universal Testing Machine. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, using a factorial experimental design, to compare the resistance of investigated variables. The statistical analysis was performed with the SPSS version 23 program. Summary tables were designed for each of the fracture resistance measurements. Based on the analysis, it was finally concluded that there were no significant differences in the brand of feldspathic porcelain and the thickness with which they are apiplied
