These changes become risk factors that can influence their Academic performance. This research work investigates the Anxiety and Depression and their influence in the Academic Performance of the adolescents of the first year of “Bachillerato” at Educational Institution "Juan de Velasco" of the city of Riobamba. Alternative Proposal with Results. The HAD (Hamiltonian Anxiety and Depression) scale was applied, in a population of 270 students, and the sample was determined in 155 students (57%) who reported Anxiety and Depression. The average of the Academic Performance is observed through the report card, showing that 31 students (20%) evidenced Low Academic Performance. The hypothesis test showed the following result: Anxiety and Depression do not influence in a determinant way in the Academic Performance of students, then, Low Academic Performance is considered to be multicausal. The Psychopedagogical Intervention Plan was applied to reduce the symptoms of the study and to look for the improvement of Academic Performance of students. Parents were involved to support the intervention, obtaining very encouraging results, demonstrated with the evaluation of Retest Scale HAD (Hamilton Anxiety and Depression) with a reduction of the sample from 155 to 72 students with Anxiety and Depression equivalent to 54% of which 12 students (16%) had Low Academic Performance. The intervention was complemented by derivations of students that presents displays discomforts of the mood in the Retest to the Ministry of Public Health as suggested by the legal regulations of the DECE, with the recommendation to the family to remain alert to the student's mood changes to detect problems and seek timely treatment
