Sažetak: | ABSTRACT: The current investigation examines the relationship that exists between the competitiveness of small and medium-sized leather and footwear firms (SMEs) in Riobamba and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It highlights the importance of CSR as a fundamental strategy for the sustainable success of organizations, regardless of their size. Risk management is positioned as an essential practice for facing challenges and maintaining sound operations in a complex business environment. Through the hypothetical deductive method in a nonexperimental field research, using the survey technique, data was collected from 139 managers of leather and footwear SMEs in Riobamba. It was identified that most of the companies surveyed had a limited impact on employment generation and the implementation of waste management programs. It is proposed to improve business strategies and processes to enhance employment generation and develop CSR training programs. It is concluded that the effective integration of CSR is not only an ethical commitment, but also an essential strategy for the sustainable success of organizations, regardless of their size. Risk management is positioned as a fundamental practice to face challenges and maintain a solid and future-proof operation in an increasingly complex business environment. |
