Estudio del coeficiente de consumo horario residencial de agua potable en el cantón Chambo

In the Chambo canton, the potable water supply is carried out through a distribution network that captures water resources from local sources, the management and maintenance of this infrastructure are the responsibility of the Decentralized Autonomous Government (GAD) of Chambo. This research analyzes and interprets the hourly consumption behavior in the three main potable water distribution networks in the residential area of the Chambo canton: Rumicruz Network, Central Network, and Terrestrial Terminal Network. These networks were selected as study areas using the stratification method proposed by Arellano et al. (2012). The results showed that the predominant strata in these networks correspond to categories B, C, and D. For the field study, readings were taken from a total of 225 micrometers, uniformly distributed with 75 meters per network. Based on the collected data, hourly consumption curves were generated, allowing the definition of maximum flows (Qmax) for each network: Rumicruz network; the maximum value was recorded at 07h00 with an hourly variation coefficient (Kh) of 2.30, Central network: the maximum flow reached 2.55 at 07h00, Terrestrial Terminal network: the peak value was 2.68, recorded at 08h00. Finally, the hourly variation coefficients (Kh) were determined according to the CPE INEN 5 (1992) standard.
