Summary:The present study was developed with the objectives of determining the incidence of the didactic strategies of the learning of Language and Literature of the children of 2° Año de Educación Basica, class "B" from Unidad Educativa Dr., Leonidas Garcia , Riobamba city, and to identify the importance they have to fortify the learning by describing playful and systematic processes that allow the construction of psychomotor, affective and cognitive skills- From the methodological point of view, it was a non-experimental design. The type of research was descriptive, field, bibliographic and documentary. The methods used were inductive and deductive, the first in order to perform a general interpretation, the second to study particular cases of the obstacles presented in the learning of Language and Literature. Regarding the technique that was used for the collection of the information was the observation to the children, through a card, which shows the difficulties encountered in the development of the skills in the area. It was evidenced the need to look for strategies that are playful, striking and that are related with the interest and the evolutionary stage of the students that initiate a systematic, sequential process that is the process of literacy. The main conclusions showed the strategies proposed, enriches the learning experiences, avoids learning problems and strengthens teamwork. In addition, they allow the development of the operations of thought through children's literature activities.
