The purpose of this research is measuring the prevalence itself at IESS LATACUNGA HOSPITAL staff, for which a population of 155 people were taken among specialist, residents, general doctors and nursing staff who are medical ones and they represent the 100% of the sample that meet with inclusion criteria, for which the Maslach scale was applied that measure three levels that make up the syndrome. After analyzing the initial situation, six Bournout cases were determined which corresponding to 3,87 percent from the total population studied, and in the same way, high levels determined in the personal exhaustion and depersonalization dimension and moderate in the loss interest about personal fulfillment, in the whole studied population. After that the number of cases and the grade of syndrome involvement in different dimensions were determined, a guide was established to prevent new cases and face those already existing, this guide has standards and administrative policies and playful activities in order to improve the labor conditions for them. It is applied in a period of five months in the Institution and the second measure will be doing with the Maslach scale showing the reduction of number of cases to four from total population, of the intensity of the three components that comprise the syndrome, as well as the effects that develop from it such as absenteeism and morbidity in the institution staff.

El estrés laboral al que se encuentran expuestos frecuentemente los trabajadores desencadenan múltiples afectaciones en los mismos, como es el caso del Síndrome de Burnout, patología conocida también como el síndrome de estar quemado laboralmente, esta afecta a múltiples grupos de trabajadores, entre ellos encabeza el personal médico y se caracteriza principalmente por el cansancio emocional, la despersonalización y la pérdida del interés de superación de quien la padece. El propósito de este trabajo es medir la prevalencia del mismo en el personal del HOSPITAL IESS LATACUNGA, para lo cual se tomó una población de 155 personas entre médicos especialistas, residentes, generales y personal de enfermería que son parte del grupo médico y representa el 100% de la muestra que cumple con los criterios de inclusión, para lo cual se utiliza la escala de Maslach que mide los tres niveles que componen el síndrome. Una vez analizados la situación inicial se determina seis casos de Bournout que corresponde a 3,87 por ciento de la población total estudiada, y de igual manera se determinan altos niveles en la dimensión de Agotamiento personal y despersonalización y moderado en la falta de interés de realización personal, en toda la población estudiada. Una vez que se determinó el número de casos y el grado de afectación del síndrome en sus diferentes dimensiones, se estableció una guía para prevenir casos nuevos y afrontar los ya existentes, dicha guía cuenta con medidas y políticas administrativas y actividades lúdicas para mejorar las condiciones laborales de los mismos.
