| Περίληψη: | Pulpectomy is considered an alternative to choose when there is a great pulp compromise if it complies with the diagnostic considerations and the dental piece is restorable. This procedure allows maintaining the dental organ in the mouth until its physiological replacement, avoiding functional and occlusal alterations that have repercussions on the oral health of the pediatric patient. The success of the treatment lies in the correct shaping, disinfection, and obturation of the root canal, a process that requires conventional or rotary endodontic files as the main instrument. The aim of this literature review is to identify the efficacy of the manual and rotary techniques for pulpectomies in primary teeth. Once the PICO question was posed, is the rotary technique more effective compared to the manual instrumentation technique in the pulpectomy of primary teeth, an analysis of 27 articles selected from the Gale, PubMed, PROQUEST, BVS, and Dentistry and Oral Sciences Source databases was carried out according to the established criteria. The results indicate that the rotary and manual techniques in pulpectomy of primary teeth are effective in the instrumentation of root canals, offering quality results that ensure the success of the treatment. It also highlights the advantages in instrumentation time and quality of canal shaping by the rotary systems, reducing the time of the pediatric patient in the dental chair, useful for anxious and uncooperative patients. However, the manual technique is still considered an effective and economical alternative in pulp therapy of primary teeth. |
