Summary:When analyzing education in the area of physics, it is known that there are difficulties in its teaching-learning, therefore the objective of this research is to determine the impact of the use of open source software "Tracker" as a pedagogical tool in the teaching and learning of kinematics in first semester students of Pedagogy of Experimental Sciences: Mathematics and Physics at the National University of Chimborazo in the city of Riobamba during the period April - September 2022. The type of research is quantitative, cross-sectional and explanatory with a pre-experimental design, for the selection of the sample we worked with a non-probabilistic sampling of intentional type, which corresponds to the 34 first semester students of the Pedagogy of Experimental Sciences: Mathematics and Physics career, for data collection was done through a written test and a survey addressed to the students. When applying the open source software Tracker in the results it is evident that there are differences in learning between the Pre and Post test, this shows that the open source software Tracker proved to have a significant impact on the understanding and analysis of the subject free fall.
