Shrnutí:ABSTRAC This case analysis on the loss of the Kichwa language in the students of the "Autachi" Educational Unit, Nitiluisa, Chimborazo, is a work that investigates why students abandoned their parents' mother tongue and what teachers do in the face of this situation. in the classrooms. The objective set to carry out the research was to determine the manifestations of the loss of the Kichwa language as a mother tongue in the students of the "Autachi" Nitiluisa Educational Unit, Chimborazo. With the stated objective, the following research question will be answered: What factors influence the loss of the Kichwa language as a mother tongue in the students of the "Autachi" Nitiluisa Educational Unit, Chimborazo? What is the impact of the loss of the Kichwa language as a mother tongue on the students of the "Auachi" Nitiluisa Educational Unit, Chimborazo? The type of research is descriptive, a mixed type approach was used, the instruments to collect the information were the survey and the interview. The survey was applied to the students, and the interview to the teachers of the Educational Unit. One of the results of the investigation is that parents do not speak Kichwa at home, this and other factors that cause a decrease in the practice of the language in students also in their educational environment.
