We worked with a population of 440 records of high school adolescents and a non-probabilistic sample of 215 records. In order to investigate the study variables, documentary analysis was used as a technique and as an instrument, the data recording form was used to collect important data on the family typology of the adolescents and the results of the AUDIT test, in order to identify the types of family and their influence on alcohol consumption. Among the main results regarding family typology, it was found that adolescents live in a nuclear family (56.3%), three generations (16.3%) and a single-parent family (14%); in the AUDIT test, no gender differentiation was found, 19.1% of the population is a risk drinker, and 14% have physical-psychic problems with drinking and probable alcohol dependence. In the correlation a critical value of Rho was obtained is 0.20 with a significance p < 0.05 that is, there is a positive association between the two study variables. Therefore, it can be concluded that the types of family in which the adolescents live are nuclear, threegeneration and single-parent families. Alcohol-related problems are observed in 33.1% of the young people and the family typology is related to alcohol consumption. Key words: family, family typology, alcohol consumption, adolescents |

Key words: family, family typology, alcohol consumption, adolescentsRESUMEN: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la tipología familiar y su influencia en el consumo de alcohol en los estudiantes de Bachillerato de la ‘’Unidad Educativa 19 de Septiembre’’ de la ciudad de Salcedo. Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo, correlacional, bibliográfico, no experimental de corte transversal. Se trabajó con una población de 440 expedientes de los adolescentes de bachillerato y una muestra no probabilística constituida por 215 expedientes. Para investigar las variables de estudio se utilizó como técnica el análisis documental y como instrumento la ficha de registro de datos en la que se recolectaron datos importantes sobre la tipología familiar de los adolescentes y resultados del test AUDIT, con el fin de identificar los tipos de familia y su influencia en el consumo de alcohol. Entre los principales resultados en cuanto a la tipología familiar se encontró que el adolescente se desenvuelve en una familia nuclear (56, 3%), tres generaciones (16, 3%) y la monoparental (14%); en el test de AUDIT no se encontraron diferenciación en cuanto al género, el 19, 1% de la población es un bebedor de riesgo, y el 14% tiene problemas físicos – psíquicos con la bebida y probable dependencia alcohólica. En la correlación se obtuvo un valor crítico de Rho es 0.20 con una significancia p < 0.05 es decir, que existe una asociación positiva entre las dos variables de estudio. Por lo tanto, se puede concluir que los tipos de familia en la que se desenvuelven los adolescentes son familia nuclear, de tres generaciones y monopartental.
