Sumario:According to (ANT, 2021), speed is an essential factor in traffic accidents. As speed limits and vehicles increase, the number of fatalities also increases. Research shows that even the most vulnerable road users survive being struck by a car traveling at 30 km/h. Most people will die in a collision with a car traveling 50 km/h. The purpose of this study was to monitor the speed of vehicles at the main gates of the universities in the city of Riobamba. With the TNS-SV radar device, this information was taken by speeds of the indicated points with the help of the Directorate of Management, Mobility, Transit, and Transportation of the city of Riobamba. The accident rate was also analyzed, and a comparative analysis was carried out between speeds and accidents. Finally, the places where the maximum permitted speed was exceeded, and the number of vehicles that exceeded the acceptable range was identified. The percentage of vehicles that exceed the maximum speed allowed at the points analyzed is: UNACH campus via Guano with 87%, UNACH Dolorosa campus with 71%, UNACH Centro campus with 70%, and ESPOCH with 57%
