La orientación vocacional y profesional y la elección de carreras universitarias de los estudiantes de la carrera de Psicopedagogía de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo.

The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between vocational and professional orientation and the choice of university majors of the students of the Psychopedagogy major at the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo. Vocational guidance is a process that provides information and advice to help students make a coherent decision, based on their future professional vocation, while professional vocation is an inclinativos full of interest towards something that drives them to do things with dedication, to achieve personal fulfillment; methodologically it has a mixed approach, its design is not experimental, the type of research according to its scope is descriptive; For the objectives it is basic, for the place it is countryside, and for the time it is transversal; The population was made up of students of the Psychopedagogy major, while the sample was 44 first semester students and 31 sixth semester students; The survey technique was applied with its respective instrument, the questionnaire, and the psychometric technique with its respective instrument, the Kuder Inventory. It was concluded that Vocational and professional Guidance is closely linked in the process of choosing a university career, because students state that before choosing or opting for a university career, they need and require to be oriented and guided. In this process, since it is most advisable to go to a vocational counselor to advise the student on the decision they are going to make.
