Análisis de Componentes Urbanos y Patrimoniales para conocer la transformación del Paisaje Urbano Histórico del Centro de Riobamba, Polígono zh1

The historic center of the Riobamba city´s, has been delimited based on the monumental buildings that are in its territory, currently this is known as the ZH1 polygon according to the New Urban Code of the City, which contains most of real estates inventoried and declared as city heritage. The urban image of this polygon, has been changing over time, from the resettlement on September 29, 1799 to the present time, in which some buildings are still preserved as witnesses of the changes that have occurred during the 220 years of existence. With the passage of time, the economic changes such as; The closure of the Banking of Chimborazo society generated the loss of capital for the financing monumental constructions, in the social and cultural; The liberal revolution and the Eloy Alfaro presidency´s bring important events to Riobamba, such as: the arrival of the train, the tram, and the economic and administrative support to the city, which are the cause of the transformations that have modified the historical legacy of the future generations. This research studied the transformation of the H.U.L of the ZH1 Polygon belonging to the Historical Center of Riobamba, in order to create a document that is a clear evidence of this transformation, and in turn as a guiding tool for awareness in the management of the urban environment of the historic center, to ensure that the inhabitants of both the historic center and the city, have a thought aimed at the revalue of the ZH1 polygon, where the old goods have a real value within the heritage and are not considered as a building old or in ruins, whose useful life ended, being the closest thought to overthrow them and implement buildings that disharmonize with the historical urban set of the ZH1 polygon. This investigation was developed through a chronology of events such as: In the economic, the exploitation of large-scale crops and the existence of large farms. In the social, the indigenous revolts by the exploitation and the Liberal revolution among others. In the urban, the appearance of the first regulations and finally in the architectural, the construction of new buildings such as Maldonado College, the Post Office Building, the León Theater, among others, developed during the 20th century to the present. Followed by the identification of the neighborhoods within the ZH1 polygon, to locate the most important landmarks of the city and its morphological and aesthetic change through photographic perception, continuing with the mapping of old buildings, modern, old without registration and contemporary , taking as starting the year of appearance that is registered in the cadastral files of the GAD of Riobamba, to finally analyze the change in land use and the volumetric alteration of the horizon or sky line, which resulted in the conclusions and recommendations of the transformation of H.U.L of the center of Riobamba, currently ZH1 Polygon. Finally it was proved that the transformation of the H.U.L, of the city is a reality, and that at present it gives an urban visual image where there is loss of homogeneity, creating heterogeneous urban landscapes with morphological, volumetric, aesthetic and different use characteristics, which changed the vocation of the ZH1 polygon (Historical Center) different of a historic center.
