Beskrivelse
Summary:Reactive arthritis, formerly known as Reiter syndrome, manifests itself after intestinal or genitourinary infections. Its symptoms include joint inflammation, conjunctivitis, urethritis, skin lesions and diarrhea. Commonly associated with bacteria such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Salmonella and Yersinia, it can range from mild arthritis to a severe multisystem form, with asymmetric joint involvement, mainly in the toes and large joints. The general objective established in this research project is to analyze the advances in the clinical and therapeutic characterization of Reactive Arthritis, through a systematic review of the literature. The research was based on a bibliographic review in the main databases: Elsevier, PubMed, Rheumatology Magazines, Sciencedirect, Google Scholar, Journals, Springer, Books, as well as guidelines and protocols. The research concludes that the clinical and therapeutic characterization of reactive arthritis not only provides direct benefits to patients, but also has a significant impact on the efficiency of the health system.
