Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de una planta de extracción de aceite de ricino (ricinus communis) en el cantón guano para uso cosmético

This research work was carried out to carry out a feasibility study for implementing a castor oil extraction plant in the Guano canton Chimborazo province, where you can see the growth of the castor plant in the wild. Still, due to the ignorance of the sector, it is not used in the best way. Through the market study, it was possible to know the demand that exists for this product, thus being an objective demand of 15,846.84 liters per year, two extraction methods were analyzed, the most effective being the pressing method, due to its high yield with an average of 12% compared to the solvent extraction method with a yield of 6% whit a high consumption of hexane that makes it more expensive; while with the help of the financial and technical study we determined that real investment for the assembly and operation of the castor oil extraction plant, thus being an investment of $210,390.62, it should be noted that this proposal includes the purchase values for land, buildings, vehicles, etc.; as well as the optimal location for it and the necessary machinery for this process to be carried out in the best way. The financial evaluation allowed us to determine the value of the following indicator VAN of $121.588,99, TMAR 9,88%, TIR 27,67%, cost-benefit $1,58, and the investment is recovered in 2 years. Therefore, implementing a castor oil extraction plant in Guano Canton for cosmetic use is feasible
