Sammanfattning:The didactic guide is an instrument that has a technical guidance for the student, and able to perform all of their abilities and skills scientific knowledge in practice, in the students of fifth cycle of Nursing of the Catholic University of Cuenca, which is necessary and basic training of health professionals, this research work was carried out with the objective of applying the didactic guide of nursing practice for the development of protocols of oncology, in students of fifth cycle of Nursing of the Catholic University of Cuenca for the learning and development of what they have learned in the classroom to practice in nursing students of the fifth cycle parallel to the Race; the methodology that was used was the method quasi-experimental , this comes from the field of education, where the investigation of certain phenomena could not be carried out following the experimental procedures. In the last decades, have acquired great prominence in the applied research., the same that were applied to the students during the development of their practices with patients in the Hospital "José Carrasco Arteaga" of the area of oncology focusing more the three statistics more high in the city of Cuenca with breast cancer, lung and prostate cancer the technique that is used is the observation. The data were obtained through such instruments as observation forms pre and post implementation of the didactic guide. The information was processed in the program SPSS 22, obtaining tables of frequency and percentages. The results demonstrated the impact that produced the didactic guide of protocols of nursing in patients with cancer, in the students of the fifth cycles of nursing career. As conclusion, to apply different methodological strategies in the teaching-learning process, they benefited the student at the same time that allowed us to develop skills, favored both to students and patients for so as to give a treatment with dignity and care with quality and warmth.
