On the other hand, one cannot ignore the fact that accidents between cyclists and motorists occur, where the risk of serious injury and even death are higher compared to other means of transportation, due to the speed and mass of the vehicles. other vehicles on the roads. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the main causes that cause an accident between cyclists and motorists on the Baños - Puyo road, through a descriptive investigation, applying surveys to road users and carrying out a visual technical inspection of the road, with in order to understand the main causes, which allow access to accurate information. With the results of the investigation, it will be possible to make decisions and propose unique strategies for each identified cause in order to reduce and reduce traffic accidents in which cyclists are involved. Finally, one of the main causes identified was the recklessness of drivers, when carrying out dangerous maneuvers and not respecting traffic signs, which is why traffic accidents have occurred in the last four years on the Baños - Puyo road
