Шошго нэмэх | Тойм: | The research focuses on measuring the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on the economic growth of Latin American countries during the period 2000 - 2020. A data panel was used for 18 countries. Different variables include individuals who use the internet, landline telephone subscriptions, mobile cellular telephone subscriptions, balanced trade, domestic credit, foreign direct investment, and gross domestic product per capita, which explains economic growth. A fixed effects model is carried out where the main results show that the ICTs have a positive impact on the economic development of the countries of Latin America. Thus, for each percentage point that people use the Internet as a percentage of the population, PIB per capita increases by 16.82 US dollars. Conversely, mobile and fixed telephony subscriptions are not significant variables in the model. |
