Izvleček: | The present research, focusing on the Representation of Female Characters in Los Sangurimas by José de la Cuadra and Baldomera by Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco, aims to uncover the distinct ways in which female characters are portrayed in these two unique literary works. The methods used to develop this degree work were the qualitative approach, which describes the representation of female characters, the analytical-synthetic method, and the hermeneutic method, which is essential to giving an interpretation from the researcher's point of view. In the same way, the documentary technique was applied for data collection. From the results obtained on the representation of female characters both in the work Los Sangurimas by José de la Cuadra and in Baldomera by Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco, it is evident that, throughout history, women have been seen as sexual objects, victims of violence, maternal and domestic figure. Still, it should be noted that in Baldomera, the woman did not intend to let the man continue to humiliate her. In conclusion, it was obtained that the female characters were given value according to their physique since men saw and considered them solely for the same. This made it clear that women, according to beauty stereotypes, were assigned a value only for the attributes that captured male attention, aspects that reinforced the belief that men could have countless women and do with them what they thought was right. |
