| Shrnutí: | Background: Trigger finger is one of the pathologies with the lowest incidence within pediatric trauma pathologies with little or almost no morbidity in the child population at the global, regional, and national levels. General objective: Determine the prevalence of trigger finger and effectiveness of the surgical approach's in children under seven years old at Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital, period 2019. Materials and methods: Data were collected from children under seven years old at Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital in the pediatric traumatology area diagnosed with Finger in Trigger, mostly by their clinic. In the treatment applied to each of the patients, whether surgical or conservative and in turn evaluating complications or subsequent recurrences according to their treatment, thus evaluating variables to determine the epidemiological profile and effectiveness of treatment in diagnosed cases. Results: Of the 231 patients in the population, the sample was adequate made up of 14, who are diagnosed with trigger finger determining the prevalence of 71.4% for women compared to 28.5% of men. Of the total sample 71.4%, the affected hand was right and 28.5 % on the left side. In total, 92.8% opted for surgical treatment, while 7.1% conservative treatment, of these, 7.1% presented recurrence that is related to conventional therapy. Conclusions: Surgical treatment is much more useful than conservative treatment, with a lower incidence of recurrence. |
