La Plaza eloy alfaro como espacio público y su incidencia en la opinión pública de los habitantes de la ciudad de Riobamba en el periodo enero – junio del 2016

The present research work plans to evaluate the public opinion in the population of Riobamba City regarding to “La Plaza Eloy Alfaro" as a public space in the period January - June 2016. In 2012, the site was regenerated and provided a new scenario for the development of social processes that generate communication. In the theoretical framework, the fundamentals and theories necessary for the support of research are collected, as they develop the concepts of: Communication, Public Opinion, Communication and Culture, Public Space; analyze the different theories of Communication and exposing the realities of Riobamba particularly of the “Plaza Eloy Alfaro”, understanding it historically as part of the city. The methodology used is the inductive-deductive method that allowed to include deductions defined from the phenomena observed to describe them. The research was developed with the contribution of the population of Riobamba city, through a directed survey; thusly, the results obtained were analyzed and interpreted, the discussion of the same allowed to analyze the public opinion from people who live in Riobamba city regarding to the Plaza, interlacing the results with theoretical foundation to later achieve the construction of conclusions and recommendations describing the activities that take place in the Plaza and, create historical - cultural identities that affect the public opinion of the citizens; Finally it is proposed a Manual of use of the "Plaza Eloy Alfaro", its application will seek to avoid possible phenomena, activities or uses that damage the image of the place.
