總結: | ABSTRACT: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a technique applied by health personnel in emergent situations such as cardiac arrest, which requires adequate training and mastery of the maneuvers to ensure effective intervention and recovery of the patient. This research work aimed to verify the knowledge level for applying basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the health personnel of the critical areas of Carlos Andrade Marin Hospital. For this purpose, a descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, with a quantitative and qualitative methodology; the study population is 371 people belonging to the health personnel of the areas of emergency, anesthesiology, and adult intensive care unit of the HCAM, with a sample of 189 people. A digital survey was conducted with knowledge questions on basic and advanced CPR based on the American Heart Association 2020 and European Resuscitation Council 2021 guidelines. The results indicate that the last training performed by the personnel under study was one year ago (51%). Sixty-two percent of the surveyed population believe that the period for new training is two years. The percentage of knowledge based on the questions resulted in the treating physicians obtaining the highest number of correct answers (80%). In the distribution of correct answers for each service under study, the adult intensive care unit obtained 83%, followed by anesthesiology with 81% and emergency with 80%. The study demonstrated with the comparative analysis between the critical areas that there was no significant difference in the level of knowledge of basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which leads to the conclusion that the services in the study have a good level of knowledge of CPR. With the results obtained, it is recommended to motivate health personnel to be constant and updated training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation to guarantee the best performance of the professionals through awareness campaigns. |
