Aggiungi Tag | Riassunto: | The unplanned urban growth and the changes in the use of soil caused by the migration from rural places to the downtown city have caused harmful phenomena for the urban locations, such as the loss of agricultural zones and the loss of interest in conservation areas. The informal situation with residential areas has forced local authorities to develop a process to expand the urban area, creating development plans to solve the problems these settlements cause. However, all these attempts need to move forward due to political instability. The overwhelming urban growth in the north of Riobamba and Guano (specifically the area of study in this investigation project) has been notorious, showing landscape, environmental, physical-spatial, and social problems. The ecological side is the most important and harmful due to all the damage caused to the "Las Abras" ravine and its surroundings. "Las Abras" is the territorial limit between the two cities mentioned before. Due to the necessity of solutions to problems the informal settlements cause, the current research focused on architectural urbanization, which will improve the quality of life and population zones. Moreover, transform this place into a sustainable area. This urban site offers the opportunity for the city to see sustainable development. Applying specific guidelines based on technical studies allows for better equipping the area with an urban infrastructure that will connect the two cities better, all this done systematically to recover and revitalize the sector. Therefore, this is a good starting point for re-conserving the urban structure: connected, compact, and reduces territorial over-expansion. |
