Description
Résumé:The research was carried out in the bibliographic review modality, which aimed to investigate updated information on the effectiveness of respiratory physiotherapy through respiratory exercise techniques in patients who underwent surgery to promote immediate recovery and alleviate the symptoms expected by this pathology to improve patients' life quality. In the study, 100 scientific articles were found. The evaluation and exclusion criteria, according to the PEDro scale, were discarded or accepted, and the 35 articles with the highest scientific validity and rigor were taken into account using the flow chart. They have an assessment more significant than 6 points according to the PEDro scale; the original articles were found in languages such as English, Portuguese and Spanish, using the information from these studies allows this research to corroborate the effectiveness of respiratory physiotherapy in postsurgical patients. The data used to obtain the information for the present study were Latindex, PubMed, Scielo, Lilacs, European Journal Respiratory, and virtual libraries of university repositories. The articles collected were from the year 2000 to the present year 2020 due to a scarce bibliography regarding the topic corresponding to Respiratory Physiotherapy. Concluding the research project after the authors' discussion, it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the application of respiratory physiotherapy through the different techniques and respiratory exercises that help to reduce significantly the atelectasis symptoms produced by extended hospital stays and thus to improve patients' lifestyle undergoing surgery.
