| Streszczenie: | The study of urban comfort ranges involves architectural, urban, environmental criteria and the perception of people of a certain space, for which the analysis of problems of the Pedro Vicente Maldonado Avenue generated by vehicular traffic was carried out. The criteria of the inhabitants were considered, a sample of 50 people was obtained, to whom a survey was applied and the results strengthen the investigation since it allowed to identify noise as the main polluting element, according to the Gad. M. de Riobamba, vehicular traffic is the main source of noise pollution in urban areas of the city, this institution has established an ordinance as a control mechanism, but they are in the process of being updated. The research`s objective was to determine the noise level generated by the high vehicular traffic on the avenue. For them, three study points were selected. The noise level was measured during the periods of maximum vehicle flow. The index used was the equivalent continuous sound pressure level (Leq dB [A]), and the unit of measurement was the decibel (dB). The results show that the noise level varies from 86.1 dB (A) to 67.8 dB (A), values that are above the permissible noise levels, according to international, national and city-specific standards. And finally, mitigation strategies are suggested, such as environmental and construction ordinances, sound barriers and speed reduction of the car, etc. |
