Sažetak:This project aims to determine the impact of the thought of Monsignor Leonidas Proaño on the public opinion of the indigenous in habitants of the Colta canton, as well as to identify and analyze his discourse through valid research methods. The presence of Monsignor Leonidas Proaño and the creation of “Escuelas Radiofónicas Populares del Ecuador”are facts that marked the beginning of a fair society. It Emphasizes Liberation Theology and ERPE, as fundamental entities since they reflect the beginning of a new man from evangelization and education through programs. In this way, Monsignor Proaño is argued through his writings as the main contribution to identify his thinking, starting from a liberating education. It also refers to authors such as Harold Laswell, Noelle Neuman and Walter Lippman, who argue functionalist theory and public opinion as significant aspects in the influence of messages through the media. According to the methodology applied, the inductive-deductive and descriptive method helped us to verify and analyze the causes and effects of the variables proposed. The survey is aimed to the indigenous inhabitants of the Colta canton, where interviews and surveys were conducted in order to gather information and obtain results. It is concluded that ERPE is a means of inclusion that fostered participatory processes. Finally, a documentary which indentifies the thought of Monseñor Proaño was elaborated, it also stands out his work with the indigenous population.
