Zusammenfassung:Abstract: Congenital malformations are developmental disorders that manifest at birth, constituting the main cause of infant mortality, they are classified as major or minor, structural, functional, metabolic, behavioral or hereditary, the objective of this study is describe the prevalent congenital malformations and highlight the importance of completing the prenatal diagnosis, in addition, the clinical - epidemiological characterization of congenital malformations at the Carlos Andrade Marín Specialty Hospital in the period 2021 is analyzed. This research reveals what are the factors Risk factors affect pregnant women to a greater extent for the development of congenital diseases and how their incidence is within the hospital, together with their progress and complications, in turn classifying the different congenital malformations by organs and systems. We worked with the entire population of live newborn patients who were diagnosed with some congenital disease. A total of 86 medical records that met the inclusion criteria for the development of this project were reviewed, using variables that support us with the investigation. Based on the study carried out, finding a higher prevalence of congenital malformations in the musculoskeletal system, with 55.82% (n48) corresponding to Congenital hip deformities - unspecified, with a higher prevalence in relation to the other classifications, in second place, malformations of the cardiovascular and renal system with a prevalence of 8.14% and in third place, congenital malformations of the skull and face in addition to the sense organs giving.
