“Valoración de la sensibilidad de las técnicas de gel y tubo al identificar aglutinógenos de los grupos sanguíneos ABO y RH en muestras de sangre recolectadas por el servicio de medicina transfusional de Riobamba durante el periodo junio a noviembre de 2015”.

Crynodeb:This thesis is about rating the sensitivity of the techniques of gel and tube when identifying agglutinogens of blood groups ABO and RH in blood samples collected by the Transfusion Medicine Service of Riobamba. It pretends to technically justify the use of a technique of typing blood to mark the backing of tests to ensure safe transfusion, a better diagnosis and prevention of reactions as a consequence of transfusions. It has been considered the ABO blood group because it is a group of significant importance and association to haemolytic reactions because of misidentification of the blood type of the recipient, clinical disorders such as sepsis, cancer, autoimmune disorders which generate alteration of results, reaction media employed and not properly preserved so they can alter the results, the conservation of saline tubes reusable glass, hemoglobin concentration of anemic patient may affect the value and concentration of the blood group antigens. The technique of gel improves in many aspects the results. For this test it was necessary to work with a cell suspension with Liss modified so this improves the reduction of Z potential, it standardizes the concentration of this suspension to avoid disturbances of agglutinated because of low or high concentration of blood group antigens. In this research work, it was used the scientific, deductive and inductive study method. It was applied a field research because the rehearsals and the place where the phenomena of study are developed is the Transfusion Medicine Service of Riobamba Hospital. As a conclusion, the advantages of gel techniques and tube are evidenced by their cost, accurate readings, and suspension exact red cells. It prevents loss of samples while washing the red cells, gel technology overcomes the limitations of the tube technique. Besides this gel technique values the double population reaction because it is an important event which is considered in alternatives transfusions which are unobservable by the technique of tube. It is recommended to use the gel technology in transfusion services since it allows supporting the results with recorded readings computer. The materials used are not reusable as in tube technique. In addition to the technique of gel it can be assessed the double population in patients in whom alternative blood was administered. This cannot be evident when using the tube technique.
