總結:ABSTRACT: The manufacture of Ordinary Portland Cement releases large amounts of CO2 into the environment, approximately 1 ton of CO2 for every ton of cement produced. Research has been carried out worldwide to determine the feasibility of using ceramic wastes that occur as waste from the ceramic industry and as part of construction and demolition waste, as a substitute for cement in concrete. Reusing them not only solves the problem of disposing of these wastes, but also reduces pollutant gas emissions because less cement would be needed. In Ecuador, this topic has been little addressed, so researchers must resort to international scientific information, which is dispersed and therefore, its analysis represents a waste of time. In order to synthesize this data, a complete bibliographic review of the advances achieved to date was carried out, obtaining that it is feasible to use ceramic waste powder as a cement substitute in concrete up to 10% in relation to its weight. In order to verify the substitution percentage determined, the experimental part was carried out to verify if there is an increase in the compressive strength by means of the analysis and comparison of simple concrete specimens versus concrete specimens containing a percentage of cement substitution by ceramic residue powder.
