Agregar Etiqueta | Sumario: | This research aimed to analyze the level of knowledge of parents about oral health and its influence on caries prevention in schoolchildren in Nuestro Mundo Eco Rio Educational Unit. The studied population was constituted by 296 parents without any exclusion. A validated questionnaire on oral health of preschool children was applied. The results showed that 2/3 parts of the representatives obtained a high level of knowledge about oral health, however, the level of knowledge about prevention of the parents was low by 49.8%, they showed especially a lack of knowledge about biofilm and the benefits of fluoride. It was concluded that there was no direct influence of parental knowledge about oral health in the prevention of caries in schoolchildren, which was demonstrated by assessing the levels of knowledge in this area. |
