Sumari:ABSTRACT: Preeclampsia and eclampsia are fundamental health problem throughout the world and is defined as hypertension that occurs only in pregnant women after 20 weeks of gestation and for which various causes have been identified. However, its etiology and pathophysiology are still unknown. Due to this situation presented, this study aimed to focus the investigation of proteinuria as a predictive value of diagnostic support in eclampsia and preeclampsia. This research was descriptive, non-experimental documentary, a cross-sectional sequence, and a retrospective time chronology. The population of this work is 79 bibliographic references, and 62 publications from different databases were selected, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Through the analysis and discussion of the scientific documents, it was concluded that the most relevant risk factors associated with eclampsia and preeclampsia are; obesity, pregnant women over 35 years of age, chronic hypertension, and personal history. Laboratory tests such as 24-hour proteinuria, uric acid, serum magnesium, creatinine, liver enzymes, LDH, and platelet count can help to diagnose more accurately. And also to monitor the progress of the disease in question. Furthermore, poteinuria as a laboratory test cannot be the only predictive value for diagnosing preeclampsia and eclampsia. Keywords: Preeclampsia, eclampsia, risk factors, proteinuria, predictive value. Firmado electrónicamente por: MARCELA PATRICIA GONZALES ROBALINO Reviewed by: Mgs.
