Yhteenveto:Nowadays, the teaching of mathematics has become a relevant topic within the field of education, the first levels are not exempt from this, so it is important to combine them with teaching methods based on games, therefore the research aims to determine strategies for the teaching of mathematics in children of Initial II, through popular games, The research was conducted through a non-experimental design methodology and a bibliographic analysis study on the subject, using the descriptive method, with a study population of 22 students of the II parallel "A" grade of the above-mentioned educational institution, where the observation card was used as an instrument. The results showed that most of the students have acquired skills in the area of mathematics through the application of traditional games, concluding that through theoretical and bibliographic analysis it has been shown that popular games are an effective tool for teaching mathematics to children of the initial level II. These games promote cognitive development, active learning and motivation of children, allowing them to explore and understand mathematical concepts in a playful way.
