| Sumari: | ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was to study transitions between coverage and land use in the transition zone basin of the Chambo river from 1998-2007 to 2019. For determining the systematic transitions and the most important intensities within the study area, remote sensing and data processing systems were employed. The methodology included six stages. Three thematic maps were obtained in which eight categories are identified: Water (Ag), Paramo (Pa), Forest plantation (Pf), Cultivation (Cu), Wetland (Hm), Grassland (Pz), Infrastructure (Inf), Snow (Ni). The results display an increase in the covered area per moor with 13% (4778 ha), an increase of 10% (6508 ha) in the surface of Cu and a decrease in the surface of Pf of 12% (32571 ha) from 1998 to 2019. The following systematic transitions from Pa to Hm, Pa to Pz, Pa to Pf, Cu to Inf, Pf to Pa, Pz to Pf, and Inf to Cu were identified. While during the first time, interval the transition process was accelerated, on the second time interval the transition process was slower. The categories of Inf, Hm and Pf were "active" when exceeding the threshold of uniform intensity, while Cu was "latent". The transitions from Pa to Pz and Pa to Pf were directed in the two-time intervals studied. On the other hand, the transitions from Pa to Cu were avoided in the two-time intervals. |
