Yhteenveto:Language, dress, music, traditions, legends, religion are part of a cultural identity, we cannot say that one culture is better than another, but if we think about this, we will understand that nowadays, many of these demonstrations have been lost. Foreign idioms as fashion, music and others have been taking in the new generations daily life development. You cannot say that we are lack of culture because for many experts even the walking manners are considered as part of it, since it is not anything other than learning. In Otavalo specifically in the Plaza of the ponchos and the Ministry of Tourism were some of the places that I visited and I was able to see that they still using craft Andean symbology decorations as parts of its environment; They represent animals, tools, people, etc., and when comparing with the ceramics, textiles and other ancient crafts have great decoration similary. Representations of lines as spirals, stairway are part of the decoration of mugs, plates and vases. Zoomorphics anthropomorphic, geometric and current creations figures are part of the textiles and ornaments and in wood we can find faces whether of caciques, gods or stars. Each of these symbols tells the story of the evolution of this people, but at present, only you can give to know as a means of decoration, by their abstract forms. This is why the Analysis of the Andean symbology as a meams of recourse of cultural identity of the handicrafts manufactured in the City of Otavalo, Imbabura Province during the year 2012 it has been carried out with the purpose of making know the meaning of each of the symbols used in this community more than a means of livelihood a resource of Cultural Identity. Each of the symbols that are either in a poncho or faja are part of this culture because when comparing with other the designs and colors are different. Each craftsman performs their designs and names is author, at this time the most part of the designs are made based on the objects that surround us as automobiles, motorcycles, etc. But that doesn’t mean that they are more highly prized, on the contraty the tourists prefer a wool poncho with an old image as a hallmark of that they have visited this site.
