| Sumario: | This present research paper describes the care provided by the Student and University Welfare Management Coordination, through the Protocol for prevention and action in cases of harassment, discrimination and violence based on gender and sexual orientation, to the educational community of the National University of Chimborazo in the period 2018 - 2020; with the aim of showing whether the actions and strategies carried out are aimed at achieving gender equality and promoting a culture of peace. The research is mixed, since it has a qualitative and quantitative approach, because the survey and the interview were used as instruments for collecting information. The survey was applied online, to 371 students enrolled in the institution since 2018. The objective of the survey was to show the percentage of students who have suffered violence based on gender and sexual orientation throughout their lives and the main grounds for not making the complaint when suffering some type of violence. The interview was the technique used to collect information on the actions of the Student and University Welfare Management Coordination regarding the action, prevention and eradication against violence based on gender and sexual orientation; the internal protocol handled by the institution, access routes to the service, protection measures, sanctioning entity, etc. Therefore, the type of research that prevailed was descriptive, because the trend of the studied population is specified, which allowed obtaining results that enabled conclusions that will contribute positively to the construction of university educational environments free of violence. |
