Shrnutí:This research addresses a problem found in the institutions ofhigher education when organizing academic-scientific events. It starts with a comparative analysis of national and international congresses that serves as a pointstarting point to develop a design management model applied to academic scientific events, which allows to improve the processes and the quality of the organization. Therefore,A descriptive / explanatory type of research is defined with a mixed approach of in accordance with investigative requirements. Therefore, information has been collected on national and international academic scientific events, including the I International Congress of Gestalt Graphic Design organized by the Design career Graphic of the Faculty of Education, Human Sciences and Technologies of National University of Chimborazo, showing that most of the events are carried out quasi empirically. Therefore, starting from these Background, a design management model focused on academic scientific events is proposed for the improvement of organizational quality processes, including elements that comply with the basic principles of process and system management communication that are adjusted to each type of event. For this, a model is proposed management that facilitates the planning, execution and organization of scientific events which is aimed at research groups and other actors around the generation of knowledge, establishing design typologies and innovating the stages organization of these events.
