Descripció
Sumari:This research details the development of a brain-computer interface to acquire and process EEG signals. The Alexa intelligent personal assistant provides a basic communication pathway for people diagnosed with Angelman syndrome. Before the project's development, state-of-the-art methods were used to analyze this research's feasibility. The theoretical framework details key concepts considered for creating this interface, making possible the combination of the human brain with a computer, thus fulfilling each of the stated objectives. A non-parametric statistical analysis was made to compare the execution times of an activity of daily living (basic activities) performed by the patient through daily activities. Those performed with the device concluded that the null hypothesis was rejected. The alternative hypothesis is accepted, giving way to the calculation of the level of efficiency of the brain-computer interface. Finally, conclusions and recommendations for future research are detailed.
