Realidad socioeconómica de los Artistas Plásticos de la ciudad de Riobamba, año 2023.

The present investigation, determines important aspects of the socio-economic situation of the plastic artists in the Riobamba Canton of the province of Chimborazo, going through a historical review of the beginnings of the artistic economy, with reference to the first expressions of artistic commerce of the locality. It allowed to know closely the current situation of the plastic artists and their way of economic sustenance, besides the intervention of educational and cultural institutions. The methodology applied in this study is based on a mixed approach because it is flexible and open on its approach, from the application of a narrative design that, through the application of structured interviews, important data were obtained from the main actors of the city. The main objective was to determine the socio-economic reality of the plastic artists in the city of Riobamba, among its conclusions, it was determined that due to the idiosyncrasy of our society, it is difficult to a great extent to have an economic support, exclusively from the generation and sale of elements that are part of the plastic arts, determining the need to implement conditions and opportunities that allow the plastic artist to have as a main source of economic support, the plastic artistic activity.
