Summary:The main problem of this project is the limited tourist development around enhancing the existing architectural heritage in the Latacunga canton. Therefore, two study variables have been identified: the independent variable, architectural heritage, and the dependent variable, tourist development. The research aims to determine the relationship between architectural heritage elements and the tourist development of Latacunga canton in the Cotopaxi province. This research has a documentary, descriptive, and field approach with a non-experimental, transversal, and correlational design. It is supported by information contained in articles, reports, and other relevant studies on the topic. It describes the reality of the studied environment and collects data from the locality in situ. The variables were not manipulated, their data was collected at a single moment, and the study aims to establish the relationship between the variables. The collected information as surveys were developed and applied to officials with competence in the municipal GAD's tourist and cultural material area and representatives or collaborators of tourist establishments in Latacunga city. The information processing was carried out using the statistical program IBM SPSS version 26. The reliability of the instruments was tested using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and the chisquare test was used to test the hypotheses. This process has allowed us to show that there is no relationship between the variables. For the architectural heritage to represent a factor of influence in local tourism, it is necessary to pay attention to other particulars that inhibit the development of projects and activities in the cultural material area of the city. Moreover, greater attention should be given to potential resources that must be adequately exploited. From this premise, the proposal for the website "Latacunga: Architecture and Tourism" arises, focused on the dissemination of heritage attractions through the provision of information, the proposal of tourist routes, and the implementation of a QR code. These tools may be helpful for the proper valuation of the architectural heritage in the tourist development of the Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi province.
