Beskrivelse
Summary:This research and proposal for bioconstruction focuses on finding a constructive alternative through the use of plant fibers from barley in the Colta canton, Chimborazo province. The main objective of this system´s proposal is to address and solve the current housing problems present in the building areas. To achieve this, a descriptive, experimental, and demonstrative investigation is established to provide an efficient and ecological solution for the construction of a prefabricated modular panel. This panel consist of a structural wooden frame filled with bales of compressed barley straw, which has technical properties with a resistance of 500 kg per linear meter and a thermal conductivity of 0.045 W/m°K. However, this prototype has a significant disadvantage; it represents a higher cost compared to self-supporting systems or the Nebraska technique. This leads to a search for strategic alliances with public and private entities to promote the large-scale production of these prefabricated modules aimed to solving the housing issues in the area.
