סיכום:ABSTRACT This research entitled “Film consumption in the city of Riobamba: ¿educated or entertained audiences? Period September 2019-February 2020” has the purpose of knowing what is the percentage of the population that consumes cinema and what are the factors influence when doing it. This work is based on functionalist theory, through which the effects produced by the mass media, in this case, the cinema, are analyzed. We worked with the quantitative method, applying the surveys to obtain data from the citizens (audiences) who consume cinema in the city, interviews were alzo carried out with experts, who were sources of sustenance in this study. This allowed discovering Riobamba shows an interest in cinema and that audiences choose entertainment, thus answering the question posed. As a proposal, a multimedia product was made, where the points of view of the specialists regarding cinematography in the city are shown.
