Zusammenfassung:The use and aplication of TCTs facilited and interactive and interesting teaching process. By the use of etechlogy a better performance was obtained. The present study entitled Excel Aplication for the teaching and learning of Descriptive Statistics at the “Nidia Jaramillo” school, located in Riobamba almed at the thenth year students of Basic Education during the school year 2015-2016, pretended to determine that tha aplication of this software served to improve the quality of education and motivated students to be part of their own learning. The paradigm utilized in this study was social and critical whit a cualitative approach and an explanatory type. The sample pupulation aplied a method of data collection that consisted in the application of a survey to 30 people involved in the educative process as the rector, aducators and students. The reliability of instruments was obtained through the elaboration of statistical charts in Excel. It was a field research that aplied an interview and an a survey with theuir corresponding instrumens tha present the variables as clearly as posible. It also had a social and educational modality with a proposal tha aintervened the problem.
