Descripció
Sumari:This study aims to analyze how the articulation of Spanish consonants varies according to their position within the syllable, also considering factors such as prosody and dialectal variation. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, field, descriptive, and cross-sectional design. A purposive sample of three Spanish speakers from the Coastal, Andean, and Amazonian regions of Ecuador was used. Through speech recordings and acoustic analysis using the PRAAT tool, significant differences in phoneme realization were identified according to their syllabic position, as well as regional characteristics. The results show that consonants in syllable onsets tend to be more stable and clearer, while those in coda are more susceptible to phenomena such as weakening or elision. Furthermore, it was observed that prosodic factors, such as rhythm and stress, influence articulatory accuracy. This study provides valuable data for teaching Spanish, experimental phonetics, and the development of language technologies.
