The Hypothesis was there is interference of mother tongue in English language learning in students of seventh semester in language career at Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo in the academic period April 2015 – August 2015. The method applied in the investigation was Quality - Quantitative, the types of research were: Documental, Field and Bibliographic, the level of research were: Descriptive and Diagnostic. For data collection was used observation guides and surveys, the population were 22 students of seventh semester in language career at Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo. The main results according the outlined objectives show the following: there was interference of mother tongue in English language learning, the main reasons why the mother tongue interferes are because students think in Spanish and translate their ideas into English and this interference provoke in them translation, lack of fluency and use of Spanglish words. |
