“Patrimonio cultural inmaterial y desarrollo turístico del cantón Penipe de la provincia de Chimborazo.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this project is to determine the influence that exists between the intangible cultural heritage and the tourism development at Penipe canton in province of Chimborazo. The invesgation is quantitative and qualitative, a cross-sectional nonexperimental study design. Two survey designs were used as evaluation instruments for the variables, Intangible Cultural Heritage (Independent Variable) and Tourism Development (Dependent Variable). As a study sample, the population for the independent variable and the tourists visiting the canton and the dependent variable were taken into account. The obtained results from the surveys applied to the touristic population, the general and specific hypotheses were tested by SPSS version 25 program, including the Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient. It allowed determining the influence of intangible cultural heritage has for tourism development in Penipe canton. These parameters allowed the creation of a proposal which consists in the elaboration of a tourist product for the Penipe canton, In fact, it gives a solution to the central problem of the research project. Basically, the product consisted of analyzing the current situation of its cultural manifestations and tourist attractions that were properly used to design the tourist product.
