| סיכום: | At present, the aim is to achieve a quality education that forms people capable of integrating skills, knowledge and attitudes when facing different problems. That is why the following research addresses the topic “Mathematical competencies in the students of the third year of high school of the Carlos Cisneros Educational Unit, period September 2019 - February 2020”, which aims to compare the development of students' mathematical competences of the third year of the Unified General Baccalaureate and International Baccalaureate. Being descriptive for collecting information from students in their real conditions and for the type of research is quantitative, field and documentary, which allowed to determine the degree of development of mathematical skills in students. The research is non-experimental and was considered a non-probabilistic sample of 24 students of the International Baccalaureate and 24 students of the Unified General Baccalaureate, using an objective test as an instrument, which consists of 10 questions, two for each mathematical competence. Through the test results it was concluded that the majority of students of the International Baccalaureate reach the required learning, corresponding to the third degree of development of the mathematical competences, while the majority of the students of the Unified General Baccalaureate do not reach the required required learning to the first degree of development of mathematical skills. Finally, it is recommended to strengthen in students the application of mathematics in real problems and to analyze the study programs of the Unified General Baccalaureate and International Baccalaureate to identify flaws and correct them. |
