总结: | Abstract This research analyzes the contents related to the COVID-19 pandemic, published on the digital platform of Diario La Hora - Esmeraldas, based on the functionalist theory of communication, the theory of uses, and gratifications applied to digital media, and Harold Lasswell's model. The content analyzed is 210 publications between December 2019 to May 2020; for this, qualitative-quantitative research is applied to obtain results from 3 matrices: informative content to identify each publication, cyber-journalistic quality parameters, and treatment information and communication in times of crisis. In addition, the contribution of experts is essential to contrast the results; for this reason, Manuel Gonzales of Diario La Hora is interviewed and from the academic perspective to Mgs. Abel Suing. The results of the investigation are that Diario La Hora Esmeraldas accelerated its transfer process to the web due to the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic; its informative approach is divided into two: information called by Manuel Gonzales as unfavorable, which corresponds to figures of infections, deaths, adverse effects on the economy, education, emotional stability of the population, among others; and positive information that aims to educate citizens about disease prevention, provide entertainment options, and contribute to mental health. Regarding the treatment of this information as a whole, it responds to a 50% solvency and depth since they do not show an author, frequent use of a single journalistic genre, and medium extension. The cyberjournalistic quality classified by multimedia, hypersexuality, interactivity, and reticularly has a deficiency of 70%, which, according to Manuel Gonzales, are aspects that are being solved. Based on the preceding, a manual for informative treatment in times of crisis is proposed for web platforms to contribute to journalistic work, which has bases and an approach for quality content that responds to production and consumption logics of information.
