Summary:This research aims to determine the level of visuomotor coordination development in first-grade students at the “Rafael Larrea Andrade Educational Unit” during the 2024–2025 school year. Visuomotor coordination is fundamental in childhood, as it integrates visual perception with precise motor actions. This ability is essential for tasks such as writing, drawing, cutting, playing games, and performing various academic and daily activities. The study focuses on analyzing visuomotor coordination in school-aged children, emphasizing its essential components: visual processing and motor control. The methodological approach was quantitative, with a non-experimental design and a descriptive, comparative, and propositional scope, based on its objective, cross-sectional timeframe, and field context. Data were collected using a psychometric technique through the Bender Gestalt Visual-Motor Test, which helped identify the predominant levels of visuomotor coordination. The population included students from the institution, and the sample corresponded to first-grade students of Basic General Education. The results showed that of the 71 students evaluated, 30.98% were below the expected developmental level for their age, 49.29% were at the normal developmental level, and 19.71% were above the expected level. These findings indicate that although most students develop within or above the normal range, a portion of the group requires reinforcement and stimulation to strengthen neurofunctional visuomotor coordination.
