Gaia:The construction activity generates, as well as other waste activities, which are called Construction Waste (CW), which, if it does not have an appropriate treatment and proper management, generates a serious environmental impact and a high economic cost in the construction, that is why this research shows the results of the analysis of the waste management of construction that currently has the city of Riobamba and also know its final disposal. For this, bibliographic information available in the city was collected, management plans were investigated in countries where management standards for construction waste are already applied, interviews were conducted with the main social actors within the construction sector such as civil engineers, architects, transporters, and local government administrators. Field visits were made to determine illegal dumps, demonstrating that the city does not have an adequate or controlled management of CW, turning this issue into an environmental and economic problem that affects the population and of which little is known, in which they intervene in turn public, environmental, and economic policies which are shown in this project. That is why this research provides a precedent for a future application of adequate CW management in the city of Riobamba and the background for the aggregate recycling activity to become a viable possibility in this city, diminishing the exploitation of virgin aggregates necessary for the construction, and in turn reduce the environmental impact and the effects that these generate to the population.
